From Guadalajara to Tampa, One Chef's Vision

Chef Tisbeth Mejia was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, the birthplace of Mariachi and Tequila. She brought those roots with her when she opened Catrinas Tacos and Tequila Bar in Tampa in 2012, and every dish she serves carries a piece of Jalisco with it.

Chef Tisbeth Mejia grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico, the birthplace of Mariachi and Tequila. In 2012 she brought her family recipes to Tampa and opened Catrinas Tacos and Tequila Bar. She still cooks every dish herself, greets every guest, and puts her heart into every plate.

The space features handmade furniture, unique fixtures, and original artwork created by owner and chef Tisbeth. Her personal painting collection fills the restaurant with color and character. For special occasions, the private Mexican Speakeasy 1900 Vault Room offers an exclusive setting for private dining and bottle service.
